Tours in Castile La Mancha Region

Private tours in Toledo, Cuenca, Ciudad Real

This is the land where most of the Spaniards feels a nostalgic connection to. Those yellowish lands where we spent hours playing every summer in our childhood, while in the distance, some ruins remembering the history of conquests.

This is where Don Quixote battled against giant combatants who turned out to be windmills.

A land that was already populated 400 years before Christ was born. The Iberians, Celtiberians, Romans, and Visigoths among others chose this land to settle until the year 711, when the Arabs took over. Shortly after, a long coexistence of cultures, religions and languages began.

At the beginning of the 11th century, different “Taifa” kingdoms emerged in the Caliphate of Cordoba. The medieval kingdom of Toledo is now the territory of Castile-La Mancha.

In 1085, Alfonso VI conquered Toledo, one of the most important cities of Al Andalus. After that, Alfonso VIII the city of Cuenca in 1177 and later in 1255 Alfonso X founded Ciudad Real. Castile La Mancha is full of castles and fortresses to remind us of those old times.

On 1982, 4 years after the creation of the Spanish Constitution in 1978, the publication of the Statute of Autonomy of Castile La Mancha ended the abandonment and marginalization that these precious lands suffered for centuries.

Castile La Mancha has acquired its own identity. A unique soul, infinite horizons, and its exquisite gastronomy that is born from tradition and the mixture of cultures.

Friendly people, places to get lost and breathe under the olive trees, golden sunsets and walks through streets with centuries of stories
